Various stories I've started in Livejournal or elsewhere. I don't think a single one is complete besides 'Breaking up with your PC'. If you think any off them is worth completing let me know. Not that I'll complete it or anything, but it will be amusing to know what you think should be.

Mentian

The war had raged for years

The war had raged for years.

At first it had been brutal. The Mentians had destroyed countless cities before their first ship had even burned through the Petan's atmosphere. But the ships had to land. They always did. And the Mentian soldiers had to march out on to the charred remains of the cities as they always did. The Mentians did not pillage Petani world. They did not plunder the Petani's fortunes. They did not enslaved the Petani people. The Mentians simply took over Petani life.

The Petani's, like other worlds the Mentians had fallen on, began to fight back. They always did. At first, one Mentian scout died. Then three. Then a convoy was lost. Soon, cities that had once been in the strongholds became battlefields. Entire divisions were being lost trying to retake conquerred territory. Medic ships soon out numbered the assault ships. And, like on Paxius, Fordin, Julip, and Braken, the Mentian ships, like it's soldiers, began to fall from the sky.

--------

The Mentian diplomat was worried. His people had been unable to control this world. They had been unable to control any world they had tried to acquire despite being wildely advanced. The Mentian people simply wanted a world. Any would do. It just seemd all the ones that they chose had an unfortuneate pest problem. The Mentian's had tried to eliminate the pest problem but the pests became Hydras and continue to be pests. The diplomat shook his head.

A door opened. A Petani servant walked in.

"They are waiting for you." He said. The diplomat could feel the fire that lay beneath those few words. He ignored it.

"Thank you." He replied and followed the servant out of the ante chamber, as it were. The ante chamber no longer had a ceiling and the door was a door no more but the Petani's were ridiculous about preserving their buildings and their culture. The diplomat knew that this building would be rebuilt within 2 years if this meeting went well.

The diplomat entered the room. As a show of solidarity all the Petani nations had united and were now sitting behind the hastily erected table in the cramped room. The glow of triumph, greed, and ambition flickered in their eyes. This too the diplomat ignored.

The diplomat cleared his throat. "I am to deliver a message from the Supreme Corps Commander Julius Mex." No one spoke. The diplomat continued. "The Mentian armed forces would like to offer this agreement.

Contigent on the end of all hostile actions towards Mentian's and Petani's alike, all Mentian battle groups will vacate their cities." This got several murmurs. "All the Mentian people require is one spot on this world. Our ships can no longer return us to our world nor have we been able to communicate with our homeworld in several years. As such, we request a land mass at least 5000 miles wide. The Petani people may choose where this land may come from, whether it is already under Mentian control or not. If these terms are agreed to, Mentian battle groups will leave all other cities and regions and converge on this location. The Mentian people will then erect a barrier around this land. We will in essense be cut off from the rest of Petan. If these conditions are suitable to your respective nations needs, we will immeaditly begin final agreement proceeding." The diplomat finished.

A low grumbling began and the diplomat was ushered out of the room. He wiped sweat from his brow. This was the first time he had been a diplomat.

Several hours later the deal had been struck. The Mentians would be transplanted to the southern most pole of Petan. Inhospital to most, death to all others. The diplomat went down in Petan history as the greatest fool of the Mentians.

The diplomat went down in the Mentian history, as the savior of their race.

In what seemed like weeks, all Mentian's were in the new land. In even fewer weeks a barrier of bright white light arced above that land. No Petan could see in and no Mentian could see out. A few drunk veterans of the war tried to attack the wall with little success. The Petanis, satisfied the Mentians were no longer a threat, got back to their lives before the Mentians had come.

Which, unhappily for everyone, was war.
